Afghan captain, Amiri joins New Radiant

Male', MALDIVES - A reliable source has confirmed to that the Afghan captain Zohib Islam Amiri has signed a one year deal with New Radiant Sports Club of the Maldives. According to that he will join the club next week.

The 27-year old defender had 43 appearances for his national team with 6 international goals. Amiri made his debut against the Maldives in the 2005 SAFF Gold Cup.

Amiri has also played in Afghanistan league and in the recent years he has played for the clubs like Mumbai FC, Dempo SC, FC Goa, DSK Shivajians and Chennai FC. His recent club was with India I League side Chennai FC which he left after disagreement with their coach.

New Radiant brought well know figures to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season. Mohamed Umair from Maziya, Eagles captain Imran Nasheed and Valencia's Hisam Saleem joined with the Blues. And they are also working to bring to Spanish players.
