Male', MALDIVES - The governing body of World Football, FIFA asks New Radiant to settle the financila dispute with their former coach Bernado Tavarez within 30 days.
New Radiant has to pay to Bernado Tavarez outstanding remuneration in the amount of USD 33,161 calculated as follows;
- New Radiant has to pay the amount of USD 4000 as outstanding remuneration, plus interest at the rate of 5% p.a as of 24 June 2017 until the date of effective payment.
- New Radiant has to pay Tavarez, compensation for breach of contract in the amount of USD 20,000 plus 5% interest p.a. from 23 August 2017 until the date of effective payment.
- New Radiant has to pay CHF 8,000 (USD 7,961) as the costs of the proceedings
New Radiant has to pay a total of USD 33,161 (511,342.62) within 30 days from the notification and should provide evidence of payment of the due amounts to FIFA.
Recently FIFA informed New Radiant to settle USD 45,636 (MVR 703,707.12) within 45 days from the notification and should provide evidence of payment of the due amounts to FIFA. And if they failed to do so, New Radiant shall be banned from registering any new players, either nationally or internationally, up until the due amounts are paid and for the maximum duration of three entire and consecutive registration periods.
On 6 January, New Radiant Sports Club was suspended unanimously by the Executive Committee of Football Association of Maldives due to the unpaid wages of their players during the last season.New Radiant terminated the contract with Bernado Tavarez on 25 June 2017 after 10 games in STO Male League saying that the result and the performance of the team was below than the expectation of the clubs top management.
