Doha, QATAR - Maldives national team coach Petar Segrt has said that he is happy with the team's performance in the friendly match against Al-Markhiya Sports Club.
"We need to make a wish to score goals. I am very happy with the performance of the team. They are young, maybe they need some more time but now what I can see from them is their wish to run and show that on the field." Segrt said after the friendly game.
He also reiterated that they are having some problems in the defense but things will be changed when Akram and other injured players are fully recovered.
"It's very important to score goals and that's my philosophy. We are still in the preparation but still we must make our offense pressing. We are having some problems in the defense. We gave two easy goals in the friendly match but again this is something that we can work during the training. I am sure when Aku comes into the team things will be different."
Under the guidance of Petar Segrt Maldives played three games and scored 13 goals.
