Port Louis, MAURITIUS - Maldives lost their second game in the ongoing Indian Ocean Island Games on Saturday against Comoros by 3-0.
Maldives lost their opening game against Reunion by 4-0 and today's game was vital to advance to the semi final of the tournament.
Maldives started the game without two key players, Ibrahim Mahudhee and Ali Fasir and the game was dominated by the Comoros side.
Comoros broke the deadlock at the Geroge V Stadium after 29 minutes and seven minutes later they doubled the lead. Comoros changed the score the 3-0 before the half time.
In the 2011 edition of Indian Ocean Island Games, Maldives leveled against Comoros by 2-2.
Maldives needs to win against Mayotte with a huge margin if they want to find a place in the semi final of the tournament and Reunion should beat Comoros in their last game.
Maldives will play against Mayotte on Monday in their last game of the group stage.
