New Radiant defeat Bengaluru FC in AFC Cup

Male', MALDIVES - New Radiant SC beat India side JSW Bengaluru FC by 2-0 to surge on top of the AFC Cup Group E on Wednesday at the National Stadium, Male.

New Radiant lost the away game to Bengaluru FC a week ago, the home side started the game strongly and they were rewarded at the half-hour mark when striker Ali Fasir opened the scoring.

Ali Ashfaq doubled the lead just after two minutes into the second half after taking advantage of a mistake from Rahul Bheke. This is Bengaluru FC's maiden defeat in this year's competition.

Both clubs have nine points from four matches in the Group E with New Radiant leading the chart on goal difference. The team that finishes top at the end of the group stages will move onto the inter-zone play-off semifinals.
