Dhaka, BANGLADESH - President of Football Association of Maldives (FAM), Bassam Adeel Jaleel has said that they will arrange to take the SAFF Suzuki Cup trophy to the islands of players to let the islanders look at the silverware.
"Our national team consists the players from various islands and I want the players to take the trophy to their islands."
"This trophy tour is a gift from the football family, the players, FAM and my self. For sure it would be a big dream of the players and also it will help the players to motivate." FAM President, Bassam said.
Bassam also reiterated that this win was the success of the players hard work and we should celebrate and appreciate it.
"This is the result of the players hard work and we should celebrate and appreciate it. It was a dream of mine to let the players take this trophy to their islands and celebrate the success with their family and loved ones."
Maldives won the SAFF Suzuki Cup after beating India by 2-1 on Saturday at the Bangabandhu Stadium, Dhaka.
