Male', MALDIVES - Maldives national football team gaffer Petar Segrt has announced his 30 men squad for the upcoming SAFF Suzuki Cup set to be held in Bangladesh.
A squad dominated by young players with a mix of some experienced players. Mohamed Faisal, Akram Abdul Ghanee, Mohamed Umair, Asadulla Abdulla, Ali Arif and Ali Fasir are the most experienced players.
Ali Ashfaq was last included in the national squad for the AFC Asian cup qualifier against Bhutan but the captains failure to attend the press conference saw coach Segrt decided to leave Ashfaq out of the national squad while vice captain Ashad Ali who was striped of captaincy some five hours before kick-off decided to part ways with the national team as he announced via twitter that he has decided to part ways with the national team with immediate effect by announcing his retirement.
Players who have performed well with their clubs who missed out on the 30 player list include Rilwan Waheed of New Radiant and Imran Nasheed along with TC's Ishaan Ibrahim and Club Eagles winger Ahmed Rizvan.

SAFF Suzuki Cup is set to be held from the 4th till the 15th of September with Maldives seeded along with Sri Lanka and India.
