Doha, QATAR - Maldives national team coach, Petar Segrt has omitted five players from the final squad for the upcoming SAFF Suzuki Cup including experienced midfielder Mohamed Umair.
The five players omitted from the final squad includes; Mohamed Umair from New Radiant, Mohamed Saif from Green Streets, Mohamed Samir and Azzam Abdulla from TC Sports and Hassan Raif Ahmed from Club Eagles.
A reliable source has confirmed to Maldivesfootball.com that these five players will be heading to Male tonight.
Mohamed Umair had an injury during the beginning of this season, however he is fully recovered from the injury and we are unaware of the reason behind the coach's decision.
SAFF Suzuki Cup is set to be held from the 4th till the 15th of September with Maldives seeded along with Sri Lanka and India. Maldives will play their opening game against Sri Lanka on 7th September.

New Radiant - Mohamed Faisal (GK), Akram Abdul Ghanee, Hamza Mohamed, Ali Fasir, Riham Abdul Ghanee.
Maziya - Hussain Shareef (GK), Mohamed Mujutaaz, Ali Samooh, Mohamed Irufaan, Asadulla Abdulla, Hassan Naaiz, Ahmed Imaaz, Moosa Yaamin.
