Zero tolerance towards third party interference: AFC

Male', MALDIVES - The governing body of Asian football, Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has said that they are closely monitoring the situation in Football Association of Maldives and has zero tolerance towards any third party interference.

"We would like to emphasize that Football Association of Maldives is an independent Non-Governmental Organization and the AFC stated that all Member Associations must fulfill their duties without any third party interference."

"Bearing in mind the above, rest assured that the Asian Football Confederation has zero tolerance towards any third party interference and the AFC is closely monitoring the situation in FAM." said n a letter addressed to the general secretary of FAM, Hussain Jawaz.

Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment, Ahmed Mahloof formed a fact finding committee to check the reason why Maldivian clubs missed the chance of getting the opportunity to play in AFC Cup 2019.

In a press release from FAM stated that the president of FAM, Bassam Adeel Jaleel met with the Minister Ahmed Mahloof on 13th December to discussed about the issue.
